We did it.
We finally purchased a vehicle, after a year of debating/going back and forth/whining and overall feet-dragging. Now I can happily fit 3 car seats, strollers, and groceries galore into a safe and dependable vehicle. I am a happy mama.
I’m so glad it’s over with. I absolutely loathe decision-making on this grand of a scale (honestly, I have a hard time deciding on what to make for dinner), and I was so overwhelmed with all of the choices and options. I just wanted someone to drop my dream car in my lap.
So many people told us to go the minivan route, and we did consider it. We knew it was probably the practical and wisest choice.
But we found a dealer willing to basically search the ends of the earth with our (my) wish list in hand, and it was too good of a deal to pass up.
So it was x-nay on the minivan.
I’m hesitant to say I love my new car, because I am fully aware of how foolish that is. There are a lot of bad things happening in the world for me to spend time swooning over a car. But I will say that there are times when I open my garage door, just to take a little peeksie, and yesterday, during the rain, I vetoed our plans to head to gymnastics 20 miles away–just because I didn’t want it to get dirty.
I’m sure that will fade, but right now, I am enjoying having a vehicle that I worked hard for, and that I hope our family can enjoy. I hope it turns out to be the right purchase for our family, and I don’t regret passing up those sliding minivan doors.
So, without further adieu, here it is…
Our new/used 2009 Chevrolet Traverse in all its shining red jeweled beauty:
It even came with one of those sweet back-up cameras, which we didn’t even realize it had (we authorized the dealer to buy this car at an auction, under the promise we would buy it if it showed up as good as it sounded). I like having that feature, because I am constantly paranoid about backing up with little kids around.
Here’s hoping we made the right choice, and that I can keep up my hours at work to pay for it!

we were separated at birth. after months of going back and forth on getting a new car, we just bought a new/used one this weekend, too. both of ours were dying a slow, painful death. we got a 2008 toyota highlander. we looked at the traverses, too!

Yay! I know, I feel kind of badly, because Ben’s truck is a piece and I get the cool car!
Love it!! It Is practically the sister to my car-and I love my car.
and the backup camera is one of the greatest things invented. Enjoy it!
Great buy! We are currently looking for a new-to-us car. Our current car is a gas guzzler.
