A frantic trip to Rite-Aid in two o’clock in the morning changed my life forever.
That night, looking at the two tiny blue lines of my positive pregnancy test, I found out I was going to be a mom.
I didn’t dance around the kitchen for joy with my husband, I didn’t cook an entire meal made out of baby vegetables as I had once planned, I didn’t started dreaming about nursery colors.
Instead, I sat in my bedroom alone and cried.
I was twenty-one, unmarried, a college student living in a run-down apartment and still taking my laundry home to my parents every weekend.
Fast forward a few years….
Today, I’m a freelance writer, advocate and speaker for young women facing unplanned pregnancies, and most of all–full-time mom to two amazing little girls and an adorably chunky man. And I’m writing the book on young motherhood. No, really. Check it out here and if you are a young mom or had an unplanned pregnancy, please contact me! I also work as a labor and delivery nurse to pay the bills, but that’s a whole `nother story…
I love being a mom. I love being a “young” mom. I love my life, even if my hair is always flat, my husband can cook better than me, and I can never seem to lose the baby weight.
So glad you stopped in. Share your story with me at info(at)tinybluelines.com!
